About This Station
The station is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro2 station (wireless, solar powered) with fan aspirated radiation shield. Temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed/direction and precipitation data is collected every 5 seconds and the site is updated every 1 minute. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station is situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible, five feet above ground level. The anemometer is thirty-three feet above ground level, mounted on a Maxi-Gain Systems MK6-HD telescoping mast. Data is also uploaded to Weather Underground (http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KCASCOTT9; and to to the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP), a public-private partnership with three goals: 1) to collect weather data contributed by citizens; 2) to make these data available for weather services and 3) to provide feedback to the data contributors so they have the tools to check and improve their data quality. In fact, the web address, wxqa.com, stands for weather quality assurance
